I go to JB almost every week whenever possible.
I have also been to JB on different days and times at the Woodlands checkpoint.
Here are some of the best times to travel to JB by bus that I have experienced.
The best time to travel to JB from Singapore
-weekdays noon
-weekends noon
-Saturday 11am e-gate queue is short (I usually come at this time after work)
-Sunday mornings
The worst time to travel to JB from Singapore (please avoid evenings!)
-Friday 5pm-8pm
-Weekdays 6pm
-Saturday 9am
Riskier time to travel to JB from Singapore
-Friday after 10pm as bus intervals are lesser and slower
-You might risk getting stuck at the checkpoint if there are no more buses
Worst holidays to go to JB from Singapore
-March school holidays (2nd-3rd week of March)
-Good Fridays
(avoid the Thursday before Good Friday as it can take 4 hours. If you still want to go to jb, go on Friday early morning 6am-9am instead.)
-Vesak Day + long weekend
-Chingay (around 1 March 2024) because of roadblocks
Transportation to go JB (for those without cars and take buses)
-from Kranji MRT: CW1 (cost around SGD2 with Visa card+overseas spend activated)
-from Marsiling MRT: bus 950
The best method to enter the JB gantry
-If you have registered for the e-gate, fill up the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) on the day of entry.
The e-gate is faster to clear as compared to manual counters.
-First-time users have to register with the online form and manual counters.
Can I enter by e-gate and come out by car?
Yes, you can!
The best time to return back to Singapore
-Sunday morning-noon (11am-1pm)
